so when watching through RTS classroom mike says to keep gpp to LISS type cardio. Obviously your programs are different entities, but I was curious as to the reason for including it. some also say it takes away from recovery of the lifts, I assume your programs account for this but would there be any benefit for only doing LISS?
MasterKeesh,
I would have you ask Mike about his views on LISS and HIIT.
As far as I’m concerned, off-season powerlifters and those who aren’t actively competing in barbell sports are best-served by developing proficiency a wide-range of conditions such as different rep ranges, different exercises, and different conditioning modalities.
I’m not sure that HIIT necessarily causes more fatigue in a meaningful way compared to LISS unless it is brand new to an individual. Doing only LISS would be beneficial for improving performance in lower intensity aerobic challenges and perhaps improving adherence in those who prefer LISS.

If you want, that’s one solution. Alternatively, giving yourself 20-30 min of dedicated “play” time to be active per day might be another solution compared to doing more formalized cardio.
