Question about P-cab

Greetings from the far East, I’m S-Korean.

Recently I’ve been to ENT due to the symptoms that seem like post-drip syndrome, and rarely difficulty in breathing comes with nauseous state.

I’ve received : nose-CT, brief throat check

The doctor precribed acebrophylline pill, and dexlansoprazole 30mg first time.
(BTW, you cant get PPI OTC only through prescription as well as nasal steroid spray in S.Korea)

Then, I told him the pills worked great for my symptom in the second visit.
The doctor prescribed me ipratropium bromide nasal spray, and P-cab this time.

It’s hard to find infos about P-cab. Whats your take on this pill?

Hi,

“P-cab” is not a specific drug, but rather a newer class of medicines that impact gastric acid production, similar to PPIs. They have some advantages, but it is not clear to me why this was prescribed to you if you responded well to the initial prescription.

Hello again,

I didn’t ask the reason, so I’m not able to know that part…

The specific pill was K-cab(tegoprazan) as far as I know.

I know this forum shouldn’t use as medical advise, but could you teach me relative long-term risk profiles between these pills?
I would use that as recreationally only.

I would only use that information for recreational purposes.

The drugs in that class are quite new and were just approved for use in the US this past fall. I have never used/prescribed them to a patient, so I am not familiar with them and would be just be looking up side effects myself.

Thanks for the opinion! I’ll keep in mind. Have a good day, sir.
