Sleep apnea and breathing?

Recently was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea

got diagnosed with sleep apnea (mild which is less than moderate)no sig oxygen desaturation snoring light to moderate

Report: sleep study - Album on Imgur 1. I’m confusd on how to read my report and will go over it with the doctor who focusd on the actionable. I didn’t get to se it until endof visit. think those PAHi ODI? I think they are cumulative for the 4 hours i wore the PAT?

  1. i got the resmed with the n20 pillow mask. its not heavy, its not too wet, not too much pressure, .but as unintrusive as it is i just dont like having smething around my face, and above my head. I also can’t seem to sleep on my side with this on and crushing the side pipes on the N20. I ended up taking it off 2 out of the last 4 nights i used it.

Is there a better way? I dont think I could get his any more unobsctructed https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0…?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ordered a dindaroo and will see how that works

  1. How are doctors typically diagnosing apnea vs Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS)?

4)doctor thought i had dspd with a shifting window but with stronger doses of melaonin .75g to 1.5 g I was normal for at least a month. When I do use the CPAP I do notice better sleep quality but obviously sleep less as I cna’t go to sleep with it (mentioned above).

When can I cycle or ween off melatonin? I notice my onset has gotten later and later with melatonin. There seems to be no addictive potnetial but it seems like I have aa response where i need more and more to get the same effect?

  1. This got me thinking. I am typically a nose breather. What are the downsides of mouth breathing (ie crooked teeth is one I read of)? Also when one breathes through the nose what is the difference and is there any ‘better’ between the stomach and chest for breathing? Is there any evidence stomach breathing is better for apnea related issues?

The level of detail in this question is unfortunately beyond the scope of this forum, and is better suited for an individual consultation.

Many of these questions would be better addressed towards the sleep physician guiding your care.

appreciate it anyways. you guys are my go to for a lot of health related resources. keep up the good job!

Reading out your post made me thinking to ask if you have dry mouth also
I have been dealing with a dry mouth with sleep apnea
Sometimes it used to get so bad that I would have difficulty in speaking
to prevent a dry mouth, I started using Lubricity dry mouth spray which worked out for me very well
