Ready for maintenance? What do?

Hey all. Two questions:

  1. Should I switch from cut to maintenance?
  2. If so, how long would you suggest staying at maintenance before a slow bulk?

Stats:
41 years old.
6’4 and lanky.
190 pounds, 15 inch neck, 33.75 inch waist. All taken in the morning before food or fluid.
Navy method estimates 14.5% BF.
Estimated daily expenditure: 2,581
Current Daily intake: 2,165
Been cutting for about 2 months. Started more aggressive but backed off.
On week 3 of the beginner template after about an 8 month layoff from training.
Two young kids so probably average 6 hours sleep.
Supplementing creatine and Whey RX.
e1rm squats: 197
e1rm deads: 273
e1rm bench (30 degree incline): 191
e1rm ohp: 126

Goals for now are overall hypertrophy and strength.

Thanks!

Rj,

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum. I think if you’re satisfied with your current body composition and/or are “over” cutting, then switching to maintenence for 4 weeks would be reasonable. I’d target ~ 2600 Calories for that time frame, then start a slow bulk, if desired.

Let us knoiw how the rest of the program goes and how we can help
