Cut and bulk or maintenance and some training guidance

Hey Docs,

I was wondering if I should cut and bulk or to stay at maintenance if my main goal is to get leaner and to gain more muscle mass with strength being a close secondary goal.

A brief history of my training:
SSLP → The Bridge → 12 week strength template → meet
Squat: 385x1
Bench: 230x1
Deadlift: 435x1

I am 22 years old and 5’10.5”. After my meet I was 230.8 lbs with a 41” waist and 25-26% body fat.

After my meet, I took a 1.5 month
break from training due to lack of facilities while I was backpacking overseas.

My current stats are:
Height: 5’10.5”
Weight: 213.3 lbs
Waist: 36”
Body fat: 22-23%

Along with nutrition, what’s the best way to go about programming with your templates? I have no plans to compete for the rest of the year.

Thanks for the post. I would run The Bridge or the Hypertrophy template (or similar) while at maintenance level calories and then reassess body fat, measurements, and subjective body comp after that :slight_smile:
