On week 5 of the 12 week press template. This week has been rough. I’ve had a pretty mentally stressful week and now I have a bad sinus infection/cold/whatever this is. I can still train. (If I should) but my question is with RPE and the program. Feeling like garbage, my RPE is going to be off which will throw my e1RM off for that week which will in turn throw my calculation off for next week. My thought process is that if my RPE is off this week won’t this throw my calculations off for next week? Should I just run it through using the lower weights for next week (based on calculations) or just reset week 5 next week?
It sounds like you might not fully grasp the concept and application of RPE. It will not be “off” because you’re feeling badly – your RPE is what your RPE is for that session, and it does not have any direct consequences for your next week.

You use that to ESTIMATE or set targets for the next sessions. But if you train while not feeling well, first you’re lifts might feel just fine. Second, you have a goal, but you warm up for the day and decide that that actual @8 should be and that’s what it is. Then next week, you do the same thing. If you warm up next week and know you can add weight, RPE allows you to do just that, and you are most certainly not locked into the calculator estimate.
