Set up for landmine belt squat

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to make set up for a landmine belt squat easier?

I have been experimenting with landmine belt squats recently and just cannot get it right. I hook a chain from a belt to a clip on the barbell sleeve but but cannot set up so that I have both a full ROM AND enough slack in the chain when the barbell is grounded to get into position or unhook myself at the end of the set without contortions I should not be trying.

Is this just a bad option and I should either accept limited ROM or try a different exercise?

I have been experimenting with a homemade belt squat set up recently to get around some equipment limitations. I just cannot figure out a set up that though that gives me full RoM while allowing me to

Short of “these are dumb, try something else” does anyone have any tips or tricks to get this right?

Other than “try something else” does anyone have any tips for setting up in a homemade belt squat set up? I have been trying to experiment with recently due to some equipment limitations and just cannot figure it out.

The only equipment I have is a barbell, a landmine, and a belt

I am using a landmine

If I set the chain

You’ll need to make blocks to stand on. "Lift’ the end of the loaded bar with your dip belt from the ground, step up on blocks, do your reps, then step back down and set the bar down. A loading pin + blocks might be easier, but you’ll still need to make blocks from wood.
