I’m turning 40 in December. I have not had a physical since highschool sports. I’m 6’1" and currently weigh about 206 with a waist circumference of 38", and have been losing weight consistently at a slow rate since March. I lift two or three times a week and get about 180 minutes of cardio in each week with 10-20k steps a day.
I had one blood work panel about five years ago because my vision starting getting worse and the eye doctor was trying to rule out diabetes. Everything including my blood sugar was normal. The vision problem just resolved itself after a few months.
I donate blood four times a year and they record my blood pressure and cholesterol each time I go. Lately my blood pressure has been a little high, last time was 126/71. But It was 30 minutes after working out and the blood donor center is on the third floor of the hospital and I take the stairs and am getting my blood pressure checked literally within five minutes of climbing three flights. My cholesterol is always good.
My only real health concern besides losing weight is colon cancer screening. My paternal grandmother died from it. My father gets a colonoscopy every few years and they always remove polyps during his colonoscopy. I figure it might be worth talk to a doctor about starting screening for myself.
