Shoulder instability, what to do, and what to lift

Hello.

My question is this. Can physiotherapy help my situation? I have both posterior and fronteriour shoulder instability. I have voluntary shoulder dislocations i think my doctor said( it doesnt dislocate, but it moves a bit when i relax or “force” it) im Norwegian, so my language is a bit limited, so im sorry about that. I havnt been able to sleep on that shoulder for 3-4 years now. It does not hurt at all when i lift, nor when I do BJJ. It hurts afterwards, and also when i havnt lifted in weeks, it just suddenly hurts. My doctor said operation is about 40% success rate( old method? ) so… what do you think I should do? Just curl up and die? Its so frustrating. The other shoulder is not hurting at all, its also a bit unstable, but has never hurt.

I don’t actually understand what your condition or “diagnosis” is. You have “voluntary dislocations” but your shoulder doesn’t actually dislocate. Your surgeon has offered you an unknown procedure for an unknown diagnosis. I am not sure how to help you here.

With that said, the fact that it does not hurt you at all when you lift is quite reassuring, to be honest.

Jesus man, calm down.
