Squat Form Check

Hi all!

I’m competing in a powerlifting meet next month and was wondering if I could get some critiques on my squat form.

For reference, this was supposed to be 210lb x 3 @8 but it felt more like an 8.5/9.

Age: 23
Height: 5’6”
BW: 142lb

Thanks!

Over all it looks alright to me. You definitely have the depth and could likely get a few more pounds by not going so low, but if you get a good stretch reflex at that depth, it might be what works for you. It looks like you fall forward a little at your sticking point. This could be from your bar path, but we can’t see your feet or from not keeping your chest up. I don’t like to look down as much as many others do, for me I find that looking at the ground 15 feet or so in front of me keeps my chest up. If I look down too much I collapse a bit.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll definifely see what I can do to stop my chest from collapsing on the ascent!

  1. Your knees are slowly traveling forward throughout the reps; they need to get out as far as they are going to go in the first 1/3 of the descent and locked there then you sit back into your hips
  2. These are a good 2 inches too low so I would shave a little depth out of the bottom (hip crease is noticeably under the top of patella)
