Stop creatine or nah? (1.23 mg/dL)

Sorry in advance for this post which is likely same old, same old, but after this recent first visit with my new doc, labs came back and she wrote, “Mildly elevated creatinine at 1.2. If you are taking any creatine supplements, please stop taking them and recheck kidney function in 2 weeks.” The lab result was 1.23 mg/dL. Would you stop if you were me?

As background, First, I log here. I’m overweight and have borderline high BP (always >120 but <150 systolic, and always <100 diastolic, I know the rules and test regularly at home). A1C was 5.6 this time (not prediabetic yet, baby!). Finally, I got my waist >40" before Covid hit, but right now it’s 43". Relatively rapid weight gain and increased alcohol intake (thx Covid lockdowns) have likely contributed to rise in BP lately - I’d have written <130 systolic above but, ya know…

Question really is whether I should listen to my Doc and go off creatine (oh, my gainz!), or ask her to read the Feigenbaum journal and Baraki web articles. Thoughts?

You would not lose your gains regardless of what you did with creatine in the short-term, but this is specifically discussed here, which your post suggests you may have already read. https://www.barbellmedicine.com/blog…dney-function/
