Hello,
I am on the beginner template week 4.2, and I have experienced a major lack of motivation. I bought a scale to measure what I am eating, but I am not being consistent with it. It is kind of a pain. Most of the food I eat is precooked. I have taken 5 weeks off of working out, and it has hurt me mentally. Is there an efficient way to use MyFitnessPal like tally food up during the day or do it all in one shot or do it at the end of the day. I also do not want to start the beginner template over but that might be my best option.

BB,
Thanks for the post and sharing how you’re doing. I think if you’ve been out of the gym for 5 weeks and were previously on the 1st block of the Beginner Template, then I would recommend restarting that with exercises you like. If there’s something specific about the template that you don’t like or would like to be different, I’d be happy to address that.
As far as nutrition goes, I don’t think you need to use MFP for any particular reason. That said, I prefer using it at each meal to log what I eat. You can do it ahead of time to plan if you prefer, but I think trying to do it at the end of the day is probably not the best. Again, I don’t think I’d advocate for starting MFP use as a method to augment motivation. Rather, I’d like to explore what sort of factors are contributing to the current exercise behaviors and then, based on what you’re currently able to do, address the modifiable ones.

I think my issue was mainly I was struggling with the deadlift. Also, I wanted to improve my mobility as well as get stronger. I was trying to find a reliable mobility routine to complement my weight training. i overwhelmed myself in the beginning. I know I need to exercise, but I set my goals way too high. I am 6 foot 4, and I would like to weigh around 230 or 240 pounds, but I weigh around 205 pounds now. I know I will have to eat around 4000 calories a day, and my appetite is not too large. I got a little bit frustrated plus I was having issues with my life. Sorry for the late reply.
I was also trying to find an accurate baseline for my nutrition which I thought was a scale especially for meat. I want to get in the best shape of my life.
