I have been strength training for 3 years now. For 2 years now I have been dealing with Trigger finger on/off. throughout the 2 years I have experienced trigger finger in every finger and my hand physician has given me a cortisone/steroid shot for each finger. But as i have done some searching and have expereinced the shots are only known as a temporary solution. So to cut a long story short I have been experience my worst case so far in the left thumb and right little finger. I am currently in physical therapy and it seems to be doing very little help for me. I would like some adivce on what steps or what i should to resolve this issue permanently? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Aside from conservative strategies like activity modification, local steroid injections are the next recommended therapy. Beyond this, a consultation with a hand surgeon would be appropriate.
What do you recommend on activity modification?
That depends a lot on what you’re currently doing; our general approach to pain & rehab from an activity modification standpoint is outlined here, but an individualized approach for your case would be best handled via a consultation with our rehab team.
