I am looking to get down to around 170-180, currently doing 150 minutes of cardio also want to loose as little strength and muscle as possible but that is secondary to weight loss. I seem to be making progress with 1700 calories a day but I am struggling to get over 110g of protein a day and if my carbs are to low because im trying to squeeze in any extra protein I feel awful. Would it be best to just focus on 1700 cals and 100g protein for now until I get to a desisted body weight/ BF percentage. Then slightly go up in calories and protein?
I would stick to mostly lean protein sources, e.g. egg whites, chicken, lean turkey, greek yogurt, whey protein, etc. and aim for ~ 160g protein a day.
If you’re eating ~ 1700 Cal/day you should be losing weight very rapidly, which is not my preferred method. There’s likely some measurement error there and you’re eating in the low to mid 2000’s.
Thanks Jordan, Is there a preferred weight for someone 5’8 not looking for anything exact but just a guesstimate for a goal weight as I do better with goals (especially ones I don’t enjoy, like dieting) when they are specific.
