The following is what I did today as found in my log:
Squat with belt:
90kgs 6@6
100kgs 6@7
105kgs 6@8
115kgs 2@7
125kgs 1@8
105kgs 6@8, 6@8
Either works. teddy’s option certainly saves time. I typically prefer to do the single before all work sets. So for my squat sets this morning (1@8, 4x4 @8):
275x4
315x4 (felt like butt)
365x1 @6
385x1 @7
405x1 @8
365x4x4 @7.5, 8, 8, 8.5
Part of it is I lift early in the morning, though, and I find the ramping singles help me warm up, get ready, get focused, and the volume sets go a lot smoother. Could be just mental but it’s what I prefer.
I have done teddy’s way when either the ramping volume sets have felt just fine, or I’m pressed for time.
