Weight gain for light individual

Hey guys,

This is just another “Bulk or Cut” post, but I would say my situation is a bit different than normal.

I have been training in a consistent and good way for about 3 years now. I always had problems making strength gains and I have now achieved the following 1RMs:

Squat 165 KG
Bench 105KG
Deadlift 205KG

All of that at a bodyweight of 83 KG.
My waist is at about 34’’ and Navy Method puts me at a bf of 16%, which seems a bit too low for my optic.
My big problem however is, that I am just way way too light for my size. I am 186cm or 6’1 so 83kg or 182lbs seems way too light. I don’t really have any way to cut down since my LBM is not that high but I also can’t really go up that hard because I don’t want my (already pretty fatty) waist to increase. Strength/Powerlifting is my main focus after all. I can’t really see a sense in just trying to recomp since I am not a beginner anymore (even tho my strength is not impressive).

What would you advise me to do ?
Thanks

Duro,

Looks like despite the issues making strength gains, you’ve been able to gain strength  I would try to reframe this a bit, as your post seems quite critical of yourself. You’re doing well, man!

In any event, I would recommend trying to gain weight slowly over time- 1kg a month tops, and having a firm cut off of 36" for your waist, which shouldn’t occur for a while!
