I have been sedentery now for quite a time - over a year - and two weeks ago decided to pick up a crossfit-style training, ie lots of HIIT. Every time several hours after a very intense training session I would get a histamine reaction (heart racing, heat flushes, trembling, anxiety, etc.). I then found out that apparently HIIT can trigger a histamine reaction if you have histamine intollerance.
I am hoping now that a weight lifting program like for example the Beginner Template could be more suitable for me in terms of general fitness and health.
Maybe you doctors can shed a bit of light on some of my questions?
Can a program like Beginner Template be a good fit to increase fitness and health without triggering a histamine reaction like in a HIIT training or is it better to stick to yoga, pilates and other low impact exercises?
If so: any suggestions how to approach such a template? Should I do it as prescribed or should I take something especially into consideration regarding histamine intollerance?
What about the GPP parts? I’d obviously have to skip HIIT and circuit trainings. But what to do instead?
Any other thoughts on exercise and histamine intollerance?

We can’t predict this in advance for a particular individual. However, restricting yourself to low-impact/low-intensity exercises like yoga and pilates comes with the cost of limiting your ability to meet established physical activity guidelines for health, so I would also be looking for a better way to manage your syndrome.

I am curious who diagnosed you with this condition, how that diagnosis was arrived at, and what specific treatments have been tried to manage your symptoms. It is impractical (arguably impossible) to go through life without any exposure to histamine, so I would want to sure everything on the medical side has been evaluated and addressed as much as possible before setting various long-term restrictions on your lifestyle.
My general practitioner run a blood and a stool test for histamine intollerance, both positive. Treatments are: Avoidance of trigger foods, avoidance of other triggers, ie drugs, life style choices, etc. triggering a histamine reaction. Antihistamines are another option. But they make me extremely drowsy and sleepy and thus are not a long term option. Daosine is an option if the trigger is expected to be food related.
Maybe I was unclear with my questions. I don’t expect you to predict or manage my histamine reactions, nor do I expect you to suggest a program that would eliminate any histamine exposure.
I was hoping you could give some thoughts as to which parts of a program it would make sense to customize to reduce the overal impact. Less of a guideline and more of a brainstorming. But maybe this is impossible. And as I have no expertise in creating exercise programs, maybe I will just have to take a try and error approach.
