Will I make more progress over or under estimating my RPE?

Hi there - in situations where my RPE is questionable, would it be better long term to go for a conservative estimate or push myself? I’m currently following Powerbuilding I.

For example, if I’m required to squat 6@RPE8, would I make more progress squatting something I 100% know is RPE 8 (and may more likely actually be RPE 7), or would it be better to push myself, even though this may result in an RPE 9?

You are not likely to make more (or less) progress doing it one way or the other. What’s more important is that you’re using autoregulation to help guide your programming in the first place.
