3-0-3 tempo squats and the hatred they engender

First time doing 3-0-3 tempo squats on The Bridge 2.0. I hate it. I hate everything and everybody. I hate Drs. Feigenbaum and Baraki for programming them. I hate my burning legs. I hate Rip and his dumb accent. I hate Leah’s…naw, I can’t hate Leah. She’s awesome.

I can’t tell you how much I laughed. I understand. Think “at least it’s not 6-3-0 tempo”.

I’m 3 weeks into Bridge v1.0 and I agree. Extremely tough. I ended up doing SSB squats instead on my 3rd week. I think I’ll drop them out the program.

Just saying that there was a solid feeling of accomplishment after my 3-0-3 PR after The Bridge W4. Even missed these bastards after.

Until you do a legit 3-0-3, as in, use something like a metronome app on your phone, and realize your three is more like a 1.5, you cant really feel the hate.
But yeah, RPE 9.5 for hatred.

Hmmmm… Sooooo ya it is confirmed, I must be masochistic… I flippin love 3-0-3 tempo squats!!! Soooooo much better than regular squats!! I would take them any day over regular squats… OMG… I just thought of how exciting a 3-3-3 would be…is that even a thing??? Should it be a thing? I think it should…Let’s make it a thing if it is not… I so want to try that!!! I think I might get super duper excited!!! Yep love me some tempo and pause squats:smile: Regular squats = BOOOOO!!!

How do you do this with a metronome app? I just downloaded the Metronome app by SoundBrenner.

Spin the tempo wheel to 60 bpm and accent every third note. You can also change the note subdivisions and create some funky groves while you squat…

3-0-2.5 first time I ever tried, thank you very much :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m actually with Kristara here. I probably prefer tempo squats – or really high rep any kind of squat – to heavy low rep squats. I think it’s because I’m not explosive at all for squats, so TUT has virtually no effect on me. Paused squats, similarly, are more fun for me.

Pin squats though? Now we’re talking special kind of torture. Which probably means I have to do pin squats to increase my squat – tempos certainly didn’t seem to do much other than make me better at tempos – at the end of the bridge my tempo squat e1rm wasn’t that far off from my normal squat e1rm rofl – which dropped 10 lbs.

wouldnt hesitate one min before removing them out of the programs.
it’s not even about difficulty anymore. they just make the workout not fun. and working out should be fun to begin with.

@keithf apparently they want you to do that.
i cant disagree tho, that kind of technique hammering exercise needs to be done in your competition stance. if you do HB squats instead it quite defeats the purpose.
what i’d do is either pin/pause squats at different heights/pauses or high-rep low weight squats hmm.
