I think in one of Instagram Q&A you talked about how cardio can affect your results because of body recovery. Currently I do 7h of cardio: 3h of zone 2, 1h of z3, 3h of zone 1, I do cardio on the morning and lifting on the afternoons.
Imy focus is health, but I want to know if will impact like 20% of my strenght. My questions are: whats the upper limit people can handle per week doing cardio without affect lifting? It will affect hypertrophy or/and strenght? doing it separate mitigate the problem?
Everyone is going to be different in the upper limit of tolerable training load, which also changes over time. If you’re asking whether or not I think your conditioning volume is likely affecting your strength and hypertrophy trajectories, then my answer is maybe.
I don’t know your RT programming or your current performance arc in both RT and conditioning, so it’s hard to say. I suspect you wouldn’t be asking if you were absolutely crushing it though…
I don’t think separating the training differently is the culprit if it’s affecting you. Rather, it’s the total training load being too high for you, again, if anything is going on.
