I’ve searched a few similar posts but not quite seen the same query so hope this isn’t duplication.
Last year I was dx with ADHD at the age of 35 and now I am 3 weeks into medication titration (extended release mephylphendiate).
I’ve tried to train a couple of times since then and gotten a bit concerned about my Hr and BP. Definitely don’t feel like I can push hard.
Thing is, earlier this year when doing heavy squats or deadlifts I was already seeing HR approaching or exceeding 200 according to my chest strap monitor. And that was just on caffeine. So I’m basically freaking out a bit about the viability of training on these meds.
I know it’s early days and things might settle down, but if anyone has any knowledge or personal experience on this I’d appreciate it. Standard googling seems to just get me stuff about running etc, not lifting.
