Am I still in novice/LP territory?

Hey,

I’m curious to know whether I should slow my role and go back to an LP temporarily to work my squat and deadlift up. However I’d say my press and bench are strong.

I’m 21, 5’9, 220 and my prs are 265 squat, 300 deadlift, 225 bench and 160 press

Adam

Adam, A novice is a novice if the LP training stimulus is still appropriate. I don’t know anything about your current programming, although I assume from your question that you are NOT doing the novice LP now or why you moved away from it. We can’t answer this question based on PRs, it depends on your training and progress.

Hi Leah, I’m doing a 4day split you could say, I thought as my bench and press got stronger it was better to follow that way but I’ve definitely noticed my squat and deadlift lagging so I thought maybe to go back to the SSLP where I’m squatting 3 times a week to try to get it up to scratch.

Thank you

That’s not enough information, Butt Scratcher.

That said, reduction of training stress is unlikely to work to improve your lifts outside of peaking.
