Ankle sprain rehab

I decked it pretty hard and ended up with a Grade 2 sprain. Full body weight dropped into it internally rotated ankle form a height of about 12 inches. That’s me trying to be clever about standing on a toy ball and falling down the stairs…

I can now walk on it, and GP cleared me to train weights, but no running/impact/lateral/rotational stuff (I train Muay Thai for example, that’s out for 6-8 weeks)

anything I can be doing to either speed up rehab and/or assist in preventing future re-injury risk?
