Any reason to do Low Bar Squat?

I train for health and will never compete in powerlifting. I have never done Low Bar Squat, but I like very much to do High Bar Squat.

Is there any reason for me to do Low Bar Squat? Or should I just stick to High Bar Squat?

Low bar and high bar squats train the same amount of muscle mass to the same degree, just in slightly different positions and muscle lengths. As a result, low bar squats don’t make people stronger than high bar squats, gain more muscle, or whatever else.

While I do think that varying exercise is important, I don’t think there’s any single exercise a person must do for general training. That said, aren’t you the least bit curious about learning to low bar? You could do a lot worse than incorporating it for a block of training to try it out. You could also live a full and complete life without ever doing it. Dealer’s choice!
