Are carbs essential in a Post-Workout meal?

Hello.
As the title says I want to know if Carbs are essential for my Post-Workout meal.

I used to drink just a protein shake (290cal/12g carbs/4.5f at/50 protein) for my Post-Workout meal. However, I am not sure whether I should add 50gs of bread(155cal/35g carbs) into my Post-Workout meal.
My diet goal is to maintain or lose a little bit of weight without losing strength or muscle significantly.

I know my question is not organised lol I just want to know if carbs are crucial for a Post-Workout meal and if needed I would like to know the proportion as well !!

Nope, carbohydrates are not essential.
