Q from watching your new "Full Day of Eating" video

Jordan, I checked on Youtube for something to listen to today while cleaning up a lot of meal prep (2 chickens and 3 lbs of ground turkey) and your new video was the first thing to pop up. I enjoyed watching it and like how sensible and non-obsessive you are about food choices and prep. There was a lot of really good info tucked into a short video. I’m going to try to get my thinnest son who is starting to train to watch it.

But I have a question. I had gotten the idea that pre-and post-workout meals weren’t necessary per se as long as you have enough protein overall, but after watching your video, I wondered if I had that right. I would normally eat fairly soon after working out, but sometimes I work out after dinner and really don’t want to eat that late. (I’m trying to lose some waist). C

an I just keep on with hitting my protein needs and not worry about post-workout? Or do I need to adjust something?

I am an oatmeal -with- blueberries fan as well. I like to add a couple T’s of cocoa: 2 g protein + 4 grams fiber. 20 cal. Satisfies my desire for chocolate at almost no calorie cost!

Hi there

Yea I don’t think it’s necessary to obsess about pre and post workout meals in general, however I do recommend that folks eat about every 3-5 hours with a good chunk of protein at each meal. The meals that naturally fall before and after a workout are, by definition, pre and post workout meals.

Hope that helps!
