Are there social interaction guidelines?

Hi Docs,
As a Wellness Coach at a Community College, I am drafting a presentation regarding “wellness”. Like the guidelines for PAGA and RDA (which will be included) I was wondering if there are any evidence based guidelines for social interaction. Like, how much social interaction should one get, type, that sort of thing.

Not that I’m aware of, but there’s been a call for them to be created: Life-saving relationships

Thanks for replying and for the resource because it’s useful. Considering there are various definition of wellness, I was wondering if you had a go to, or where you may look? Here is what I have found so far:

  1. “an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence” – National Wellness Institute
  2. “a lifestyle and a personalized approach to living life in a way that… allows you to become the best kind of person that your potentials, circumstances, and fate will allow” - Ardell DB. Definition of Wellness. Ardell Wellness Report*.*
  3. “concept of wellness centers on engaging in activities in order to avoid negative consequences” - ACSM

“Wellness reflects physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and occupational aspects (11). Wellness exists across a continuum between the presence and the absence of each dimension or aspect of life.” - ACSM
3. “Wellness is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” – The World Health Organization.

We discuss the definition of health at our seminar pretty extensively and like the 2011 definition from Huber, where health is "the ability to adapt and self-manage in the face of social, physical, and emotional challenges.”

It seems like you may have replaced the word “health” with “wellness” in at least the WHO definition and I’m not sure that I would do that.

Thanks for responding, again.
