Avoiding protein shakes for kidney injury?

Hi docs,

I’m a 5’9", 175lbs, 23 year old asian male. With a 35" waist, and I’ve been barbell training for about 4 years now.

I recently did my yearly physical, and the doctor asked me to do a blood test. I had eaten normally that day, and I had trained and taken my creatine supplement (5g creatine monohydrate).

The physician left a note saying:

Your labs are overall good, but I did notice a slight injury to your kidneys. We should recheck this in 6 months. I advise you to avoid NSAIDs (Mortin, Advil, Aleve) and protein shakes. I also advise that you drink at least 64oz water daily.

I don’t understand why I should avoid protein shakes. Eliminating them completely would cause a significant change in my lifestyle and diet.
