Hey guys. First day back in the classroom after our first round of clinical experiences. In one of my courses I was lucky enough to be placed in a group that will be giving a presentation on chronic pain (the course is psychological aspects of disability). However, I found myself feeling somewhat flustered/uneasy during our newest course which is based on Sahrmann’s text looking at movement impairment syndromes. There is great deal of emphasis being placed on the pathokinesiolo and kinesiopatho models, and not gonna lie it has me feeling rather anxious. I’ve been able to take so much away from branching out and discovering resources and content from the likes of BBMED and others, but now I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. For those of you that have had experience with similar content/dogma such as this, what advice would you have to offer?
Hey dude, I think it’s awesome that you get the opportunity to present about pain. I’d love the opportunity.
As far as the models go, I’d present with an open mind respecting the other models as well as being able to show meta analysis for the Biopsychosocial model. Not sure if that made sense but good luck, you got this!
It does man. Thanks.
