Been getting some flak from friends about my lumbar spine rounding during deadlifts. I feel good deadlifting, so wondering if this is something to worry about and try and correct? Here’s a video for reference: https://youtube.com/shorts/saUgqf_Uscc?feature=share
Hey danerr10,
Thanks for the post. I can’t really see your back from this angle, but yes, it does look flexed. While all backs will have some lumbar flexion when doing any kind of deadlift, squat, good morning, or KB swing, you may have more or less than others. More flexion can make lockout tough, less may make it harder to get off the floor. One or the other isn’t necessarily higher risk of injury. May I ask what program you’re running?
