Beltless pause squats

I’m on week 4 of The Bridge 1.0 and I didn’t realize until this week that the pause and tempo squats were supposed to be done beltless. When I did pause squats without a belt this morning the weight on the bar for an RPE of 8 was around 20% less than with a belt from last week. I know that the focus should be on the RPE and not the weight on the bar, but I was just wondering if that is a reasonable difference between the belted pause squat and the beltless pause squat.

I think Jordan has said that doing all supplemental lifts without a belt is a way to manage load intensity so it doesn’t affect too much in recovery.

Yes, that’s a reasonable difference.

Yep, it’s fine, and I bet you’ll put weight on the bar fast in the next couple weeks.
