Bench in strenghlifting II template

Hey there, I almost completed the Strength I template (week 12) after the beginner one and I definitely made good gains :slight_smile:

Now I’m considering either doing the Strengthlifting II or the Endurance I template (I tend to get bored easily so I thought it would be better for me from a compliance standpoint than Powerlifting II), but I was wondering if there are there still bench slots in every week of the Strengthlifting II program ? I don’t want to give it up completely for a month like I just did for the press.

As for my goals : I don’t plan to compete in anything, I train to be a healthy dude and seing my numbers go up (especially my singles for some reason) is more motivating for me than building muscle, that’s why I’m more interested in “performance” templates.

Hence my second question : for a dude who just trains to be healthy, do you think than alternating strength and endurance templates is a better option than just strength training year round ?

Remember that you can modify a template in any way that you desire - so if you want to maintain some benching in a given program, go for it!

If you are still doing your conditioning via GPP days on the strength templates in a way that meets our physical activity recommendations for health, I don’t think that either would be clearly superior.

Yeah, I admit have a tendency to just do what’s written and not adapt it to my case (I guess this has to change).
