Best Template to start with for Advanced Lifter

New to BBM. Was at the SS forums for a long time. Been training almost 10 years now consistently. Did SS, TM, Madcow 5x5, 5/3/1, programming from online coaches, RPE based programming currently. Was wondering if any of the templates are good for an advanced lifter (I no longer progress weekly) or not? I definitely feel like, based on watching BBMs content, that I don’t do enough volume and that’s why I’m probably not making progress anymore.

If you’re that experienced and familiar with RPE, you might be able to jump straight into the 12 week strength template. Unless you’ve always only done 3x/week training and not a lot of volume, then you could start out with HLM or Bridge 2.0.

Yeah I would look at the 12 week strength and/or 4 day hypertrophy. Group programming would also be a solid budget friendly option.

Thanks for the input. The reason I asked is because most of the templates seem to indicate they are for an intermediate lifter. I wasn’t sure if BBM had anything specifically geared toward someone who is past the intermediate level of adaptation.

I don’t think BBM really uses that terminology (intermediate = able to make weekly progress). They seem to prefer novice or post-novice.

You could run 12WS or hypertrophy, or if you’d like to transition into the high volume stuff more gradually, Bridge 2.0 might be a better choice.

Yeah, they don’t designate intermediate and advanced. They lump them both in post-novice with the distinction that likely the further along you are, the more volume you need to progress. But the 12 week strength is the most similar to how they personally train (and also very similar to how Mike T/RTS program for a lot of elite competitive lifters) so you should be good. If you should find that you need more volume for some reason you can simply add more sets. I think both 12 week strength and the 4 day hypertrophy would work well for you.

Awesome. I really appreciate the feedback guys. Thanks.
