Better hypertrophy effectiveness

Hi BBM team now I’m not currently worried about this but just something I’ve been wondering about and was wondering if you could shed some light on it.

so the question is:

if someone’s only goal was hypertrophy and not performance or strength at all what exercises would you replace the big 3 lifts with ?

Squat, bench and deadlift ?

I know this is probably very individual person to person just wanted to know your choice and maybe why ?

Thabks in advance

Kieran (or Cole),

I’m not sure I’d replace any of the lifts for someone who is new to training. On the other hand, if someone had been lifting for 10 years and wanted to concentrate on muscle size, I could make a case for keeping squats and bench press, but probably would replace deadlifts with other exercises for the back (like rows) and hamstrings (like RDL’s).

OTOH, if someone who was new to training didn’t really care about their strength on the squat or bench press, I’d be totally okay with them using the leg press and dumbbells instead of the squat and bench press.
