Blood pressure meds and weight loss

Hey all,
I’ve been wondering, assuming obesity was always the primary cause of my high blood pressure, should I expect my blood pressure to eventually go too low, if I continued to lose fat, and stayed on the same dose? Or do those meds regulate bp (keep it at a certain level ), as opposed to just lowering it across the board?

(I was 5’4" 238 lbs 44" waist when starting my bp meds, currently taking 10 mg Amlodipine and 25 mg hydrochlorothiazide. Down to 193 lbs 40" waist, still 5’4" unfortunately.
BP was consistently averaging low 180’s systolic over low 120’s diastolic before, it is now down to 132ish/90ish with meds)

I’m guessing it would be wise to continually check it, but is there a relatively long amount of time (months?) I would have before feeling any effects of low blood pressure? It seems like one of those diseases that is not sensitive to short term procrastination, but I don’t want to wait too long.

Should I see a drop in bp steadily with my weight loss? I guess my main reason for asking is to know if there is any reason to worry about going too low with the meds?

Asking now, for my future 160 lb self.

Thanks!

Yes, we often have to reduce / discontinue people’s BP meds as they lose weight, otherwise there’s a risk you’ll go too low.
