A common saying is that there are benefits to training muscle groups several times per week. In the bodybuilding template, both quads and hamstrings are programmed once a week. I realize that this is still “legs” twice per week, and it’s not that I don’t believe in the template, but I would appreciate some clarification on this. I’m very aware that I have no scientific basis for questioning the template. Hence the question
Frequency doesn’t seem to have much effect, if any, on hypertrophy or strength until volumes are very high >15 sets per muscle group. Quads and hamstrings are both trained multiple times per week on that particular template though
I see, thank you. Are you referring to hamstring activation from the “classic front of the legs” exercises on day 1, and vice versa for quads and “back side” exercises? I hope I’m not spoiling the template.
Thanks again for your reply and your impressive presence on these forums and on social media.
