Finishing up PB 2 this week. Responded well after a layoff I back up to my old lift levels maybe a bit ahead. Added 45 to 50 lbs to my 1 RPM on the main lifts so I am responding well. My diet could have better but I am seeing some scale differences and BF% dropped a bit using before and after Navy method measurements. My main goal is still weight loss. While BF has come down some, I need more. I was thinking about rerunning it but I saw bodybuilding was a option to break up the more power/strength lifting type workouts. I am a familiar enough with BBM to assume this probably isn’t 80’s and 90’s bro splits but did have some questions. My experience in the 80’s and 90’s may be leading to some assumptions about the template which may not be true.
Is this a more high rep high set template?
Is the main difference less emphasis on the big 4 lifts (squat, bench, press, DL)?
Is there more emphasis on GPP, I usually think of bodybuilding being more about size and getting ripped but maybe that is an old school bro way to look it.
I do like my power/strength lifting numbers going up but the main concern really needs to be weight loss. Going through PB2 I found that I built strength easily back so maintaining or dropping a bit in the lifts is ok if the BF% drops well. Would these be pretty equal for the goal or would one be superior? At some point I would like to compete in strength lifting but this is on the back burner until I can down get from 30%+ BF to 20 or 25%.
