Is there any benefit to directly loading a bone to increase bone mass? For example would you expect the hip to respond particularly well to hip thrusts and maybe belt squats compared to other movements that don’t place the load directly onto the hip like back squats and deadlifts?
I wouldn’t expect there to be a difference from one axially loaded exercise to another. If anything, I’d wager hip thrusts would be worse than squats due to less vertical compressive forces. Again, I don’t think there’d be much difference, but can’t say for certain.
