Bridge 3.0 Percentages/RPE

Hi BBM,

I purchased The Bridge 3.0 and would like to know the reasoning behind the use of percentages in the 80%+ range on this program for the squat, as apposed to 70-80% with more volume.

The template uses both heavy top sets (> 80% for reps or >90% for singles) to drive adaptations specific for maximal strength performance along with volume work at lighter intensities to drive strength development. In short, the template uses both of these approaches not one or the other.

I have another question regarding the squat and deadlift; Instead of using 2ct paused squats/SSB squats on Day 2, can I just use squats with belt? And, for pulls, instead of 2ct Paused DL on Day 1, replace these with rack pulls?

Or, am I right in thinking that this would be too much ‘systemic’ stress? If that’s the case, can you suggest how I’d adjust the percentage/RPE for the Day 2 squats if I use squats with belt.

You can replace the exercises as you see fit, sure. I don’t think it would be too much stress.
