Building muscle while slimming waist measurement

Hi Doc,

Thanks as always for all of the great information you guys put out!

A little about me:

42yo male
206lbs
6’3"
Waist = 39 inches (down from 41 over the past few months)

I recently finished The Bridge 1.0 and started 2.0 this week.

Before that I ran LP and ended up weighing about 212lbs with a 41 inch waist.

My intent was to basically maintain weight while trying to get my waist down. As you can see I lost a few lbs.

I would love to build some hypertrophy gains to maximize my strength gains…but I would also like to take another inch or two of my waist measurement.

I was eating about 3200-3300 calories to maintain, but didn’t realize I would be burning more calories with the added volume and conditioning on the bridge…yeah, dumb i know. oops.

Now I’m at about 3500 cals per day:
P338/C421/F80 ( i try to keep my fats lowish because my cholesterol was around 200 last i checked)

Do you have any suggestions on how or if its even possible to maximize hypertrophy while reducing waist a touch?

Thanks again!!

You should be setup nicely for that on the Bridge 2.0, but I’d take 75g protein and add it to your carbohydrates. Hit ~35-40g fiber/day.

Thanks Doctor!

Quick follow up Q.

Is 100g of fiber per day too much? That’s what I’ve been tracking at because beans.

Seems about twice as high as I’d like it.
