Waist circumference

Hi,

This topic may of been discussed previously, apologies if it has.

My info;

Age-35
Height- 6’3” (191cm)
weight-220lb

I’m by no means obese, only issue I have is my waist is 40 inches.
I’m currently doing the bridge and I’ve purchased the powerbuilding 1 programme which I’ll move onto after the bridge.

Is there any way to decrease my waist into the healthy range without losing too much weight or strength gains.?

Any info would be great or recommendations of what to do to help.

Thank you

Jm_24,

I would expect your waist circumference to decrease with continued training while eating a high quality maintenance diet. That said, if you’ve been more or less maintaining your weight for some time (a few months) without any change in your waist, I would recommend losing weight- probably in the ~10 pound range- to get your waist circumference < 37". This shouldn’t change anything about your strength progression, provided the programming is appropriate to you.

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve been floating around the 100-105 kg mark for the last year or two.
I don’t really track what I eat as in how much protein I take and carbs etc. I try to just eat protein with every meal and have a protein shake post workout and before bed.
In term of having a high quality diet I’d say I don’t as I eat a lot of take out food, Thai food usually which is kinda healthy I suppose.

I’ll try keep track of what I eat and include more high quality food into my diet while continuing with the bridge and onto powerbuilding.

Hopefully the waist goes down by then.

Thanks again for your reply
