Bulgarian Split Squat Depth

For the Bulgarian split squat the bench I am using to put my back foot on isn’t high enough for me to get to depth. Would it make a difference if I put a block under the front foot to stand on to allow me to get to depth or should I put the block on the bench for the my back foot to allow me to get to depth? Or does it not matter?
