Bulging and herniated disc

Hello guys,
I am 23 years old from Greece. It all started five years ago, I was having discomfort at the right lat area and the upperback and when i was taken a deep breathe i would here clicking and poping (like when you push the joints of your fingers) .I lived 4 years with these discomfort and i was training (sprinting, football etc. and some body weight exercises).Last year i started strength training but i was afraid of this discomfort and went to the doctor. He said to me that i need some stretches because i have kyphotic posture (i am a physic’s student and i sit a lot ).I didnt followed his plan exactly but the fear of some serious problem went away.Last month , I saw your podcast for injuries and the fear came back.So i went to another doctor and got an MRI which showed a bulging disk T6-T7 and a small hernia Τ7-Τ8.The doctor told me not to worrie but he gave me no plan.Only some physical therapies and pilates and he told me to moderate strength trainning for a little while. Those five years the discomfort is the same but now my mind is driving me crazy and I am in a very bad mood all day because i dont want this injury to stop me from training.Do you have any advice?

Thank you and sorry for my bad english.

I don’t understand why/how the podcast made your fear come back. My advice is exactly what we said in the podcast (i.e., don’t panic, and train), and what I wrote about in my article “Aches and Pains” on StartingStrength.com. You may need to seek some help from a mental health standpoint as well.

Well it wasn’t what you said in the podcas.I did not meant that was your fault. It was my mind.Thank you for the raped response and i am sorry if i offended you.
