Hello,
My mother was diagnosed with osteoporosis a couple of years ago, and I was hoping you could point me toward anything you have written or said about resistance training and osteoporosis, as well as any other useful materials. I’m familiar with the LIFTMOR study, but that is about it. Her doctor has instilled a substantial sense of fragility in her, and I’m interested in learning about how to best move forward given risks of fractures and crumbling vertebrae.
Thank you
The way to best move forward is to
- un-do that sense of fragility and fear of movement / activity
- initiate loaded resistance training
- consume sufficient dietary protein
As well as addressing any other osteoporosis risk factors like smoking, alcohol use, etc.
Ways you can prevent or combat osteoporosis:
- Stop the Pop!
- Cut down on Protein
- Keep Your Stomach Acid!
- Cut out Caffeine!
- Get the Right Kind of Calcium.
- Get Some Sun!
- Have Your Hormones Checked.
- Change Your Diet. You can also opt for Fosamax Generic medicine, as it and in those with osteoporosis increases bone mineral density and significantly reduces the risk of spine, hip, and wrist fractures in women with low bone density that doesn’t meet the criteria for osteoporosis.
