Cutting vs maintenance

Howdy,

I was planning to cut 10’’ of my 40’‘. But during the cut I just cut 6’', I was thinking to maintain my current weight(167lbs), because if I continue to cut I will be just bones. I literally just have fat in my belly, genetics(father and brothers with the same “problem”). So, continue to cut or stay with this weight couple months?

a little off topic, I am looking to buy a belt from best belts. I was thinking to buy a belt for a 40’’ belly, since I will bulk this year again…thoughts?

Height: 5’ 10"
Weight: 167 lbs

thanks

Scampos.

What are you doing for training? I would be looking at that along with some dietary parameters to see if we can do any better here.

I would buy a belt with the center hole cut at your current waist.

I am running the novice linear progression.

My current macros for maintenance are:

3.932kcal

514 carbs 83 fats 185 protein

There is no way those are maintenance calorie for you.

I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about, but I’m fairly confident that you don’t eat >3500 calories 7 days a week. If you did, I don’t think you’d be here right now.

Since rice seems to be the bulk of your calories, any chance you are measuring the rice based on wet weight/volume when MyFitnessPal is calculating calories based on dry weight/volume?

in my defence, 4 months ago, my typical day was 1:30 boxing +1h of bodybuilder trainning type, 6 days(push, pull, legs), one day of rest. Then I stopped because of a vacation trip, when I came back, I decided to run the SSLP alone. Although, I am about 2 months without do boxing, but my calorie intake still the same.

I am only at the fourth week of SSLP, its hard, but its not that taxing. I was confused about such high calories at maintenance, but now I am worried.

Why are you worried? You need to train and should not gain weight rapidly given your current body composition. You will still get stronger, gain muscle, etc. so we’ll just start from where we’re at and go from there.

thanks Doc, I will do that.
