Deadlifting with dodecagonal plates

Unfortunately, my gym does not have round plates (and I literally can’t get a decent gym).

If I set down the dodecagonal plates completely, they roll all over the place and I have to redo the entire setup or pull from really awkward positions.

Alternatively, I just perform touch-and-go reps where I can hold the bar in place myself. That seems to work a lot better than the above.

Which variant would you recommend?

I would pull the sets as singles with full resets.

Thank you for the reply!

May want to get soccer shin guards too. Hate those type of plates for DL.

You could try to put something soft under the plates, it might stop them from turning (a few mats, maybe a piece of foam or something).

I hate those plates.

If you have no other gym options and won’t for a while, you might want to look into getting some hex bumpers. I’ve never used them but they seem like a great solution to the ol’ hex plate dilemma.

Try using the pin in the squat rack to catch the bar. you will have to adjust the elevation of your feet but it should work.

Sadly, we don’t even have a proper squat rack, only a squat stand. And only a single one of those, too. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Anyways, thank you all for your advice, really appreciate it! I’ll try out what works best.
