Complaint- deep sharp glute pain
Duration- 5 weeks

Hey Docs, About 5 weeks ago I injured something in my glute/hamstring area during a heavy set of squats. The pain was slightly there before but that squat session made it bad and the pain has persisted. I am able to walk and sit relatively pain free but squatting always makes the pain come back to where I cannot complete a rep even at light weights. Overtime I think its healed I try to squat and the pain comes back. It is located right under the sit bone on the right side. It is a deep sharp pain that is made worse at the bottom of the squat and the pain lasts for about a day after squatting. Deadlifts are possible if i do not squat beforehand. Thinking of seeing an Ortho but looking to see if y’all have any insights as doctors who lift. I have been working with my SSOC to train around it in the meantime.

Do you ONLY feel it at the bottom of the squat?

No but the pain increases alot at the bottom of the squat. Its only somewhat noticable just walking around. Also hurts when squeezing chest up on deadlift.

I would try some tempo squats to above-parallel pins and see how you do with them for a little while. You might even try this with a high bar position.
