Last week I had my first experience with gout. I had pretty bad pain in my big toe on my right foot that kept me up all night, this was my first experience with gout. My question is what dietary changes should I make considering that I may have high uric acid levels? I currently consume about 150 grams of protein a day primarily from meat, eggs, and low-fat yogurt. There seems to be a lot of conflicting advice about what someone should change from the stand point of diet. Thank you for all you do.

The strongest recommendation here would be to get your waist measurement down, ideally to 37" or less.
The composition of the diet is of lesser significance compared with that factor. The evidence is a bit mixed around dietary interventions, but in general substituting some of your meat intake for plant-based protein sources would likely be beneficial for multiple health reasons, and reducing/avoiding alcohol use would be wise here as well.
I don’t know that either are likely to be the major factors/contributors here, although I don’t see a reason for the vast majority of people to be using electrolyte supplements like LMNT at all.
