Disgnosed with trochanteric/hip bursitis

Hi coaches–I am rerunning my SSLP, and I started experiencing some hip pain on my right side. I went to my doctor, and after some tests, I was diagnosed with trochanteric bursitis on my right side. How do I approach my training? I can deadlift without pain, but I experience pain while squatting even during warm ups. Should I avoid squatting entirely? until it heals? My squat form was pretty sloppy, and I’ve already reached out to an SSC about setting up a regular schedule to visit him. Any advice would be appreciated.

Info: 32 years old. male, 6’1’'. ~202 lbs. I finished my sq LP at 275x5, but at the moment I’m just squatting 185x5.

Thanks.

The first step, as you’ve done, is to clean up the squat technique – the SSC may be able to help you temporarily find a way to squat that doesn’t hurt. Continue deadlifting and doing the other things you can train without pain.
