I want to add more accessories volume to my workouts (neglected calves for example). I have no room in my schedule to add more time or days because of a newborn at home (already do 3 days a week at 2 hours a piece.)
The only thing that I can think of that would work is since I have a home gym I can easily squeeze in a set at random times throughout the week. So I imagine I would have a goal of X sets in a week and just fulfill it whenever or however I can. On it’s face it sounds like a good idea because volume is volume. But since my goal is hypertrophy with these, I’m not so sure its an effective solution. I don’t know if it doesn’t meet some kind of intra-workout minimum stress to actually contribute to hypertrophy while still adding unnecessary (if it’s not helpful) fatigue.
Thoughts?
